Our mission is to promote the intellectual, social, and personal growth of youth from all backgrounds by providing a quality chess league that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, critical thinking, diversity and inclusivity, and teamwork while fostering an environment of support, challenge, and excellence.
Nuestra misión es promover el crecimiento intelectual, social y personal de jóvenes de todos los orígenes proporcionando una liga de ajedrez de calidad que enfatice el espíritu deportivo, el respeto, el pensamiento crítico, la diversidad, la inclusión y el trabajo en equipo, al mismo tiempo que fomenta un ambiente de apoyo, desafío y excelencia.
Vice President
EVELYNE DASILVA
Our VP of the FSCL, a former employee of M-DCPS and a former chess coach at Palmetto Middle School, led her chess team and their families to a victorious academic year. The newly formed team impressed the county and placed 1st in K-8 Regionals, 3rd in K-8 at States, and 8th in K-8 in Kentucky, at the USCF Nationals Championship. She is a significant advocate for Chess in the State of Florida and dedicates her efforts to thousands of FSCL chess families she has met through the years. You can reach her at evelyne@fsclchess.org
Secretary
RAYMONDE REYES
FSCL Secretary Ms. Reyes channels her passion for chess and education into her role, cultivating young minds for over 15 years. She's a Miami-Dade County Public Schools veteran with 28 years of service culminating in her current position as District Coordinator for the Parent Academy. Her advocacy for chess as a tool to develop strategic thinking and focus in children is a testament to her commitment to their holistic growth.
