Our mission is to promote the intellectual, social, and personal growth of youth from all backgrounds by providing a quality chess league that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, critical thinking, diversity and inclusivity, and teamwork while fostering an environment of support, challenge, and excellence.

Commissioner
ELIZABETH TEJADA
Mrs. Tejada, the esteemed Commissioner of the Florida Scholastic Chess League (FSCL), is a distinguished figure in chess. Recognized as a USCF-certified Tournament Director and a FIDE International Organizer, she has garnered significant accolades, including the 2014 UT Dallas Chess Educator of the Year Award and the Florida Chess Association's Organizer of the Year. Her dedication extends to the students of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, providing them with invaluable guidance and insight into the game. Liz Tejada
Liz is a dedicated volunteer and the Director of Supply Chain for an education organization, bringing 18 years of experience in supply chain, data strategy, and product management. With a background working for a Fortune 500 company, she is passionate about using her expertise to help children benefit from everything chess offers.
Her focus is on helping parents, coaches, schools, and chess teams navigate memberships, registrations, and any other chess-related support they may need. Her contributions ensure that schools, families, and coaches receive tournament information accurately and swiftly, making participation in FSCL events as seamless as possible. Vice President
EVELYNE tejada
Our VP of the FSCL, a former employee of M-DCPS and a former chess coach at Palmetto Middle School, led her chess team and their families to a victorious academic year. The newly formed team impressed the county and placed 1st in K-8 Regionals, 3rd in K-8 at States, and 8th in K-8 in Kentucky, at the USCF Nationals Championship. She is a significant advocate for Chess in the State of Florida and dedicates her efforts to thousands of FSCL chess families she has met through the years. You can reach her at evelyne@fsclchess.org

RAYMONDE REYES
FSCL Secretary Ms. Reyes channels her passion for chess and education into her role, cultivating young minds for over 15 years. She's a Miami-Dade County Public Schools veteran with 28 years of service culminating in her current position as District Coordinator for the Parent Academy. Her advocacy for chess as a tool to develop strategic thinking and focus in children is a testament to her commitment to their holistic growth.
