Her innovative rebranding ability is a widely considered a boutique business's best kept secret. As an advocate for the performing arts, she is also the Marketing & Media Director at Clever Name Productions, NYC, MIA and ATL. Growing in a household where the norm was observing adults organize chess tournaments; in the early 2000's as an employee of Miami-Dade County Public Schools and a first time Chess Coach at Palmetto Middle School, she led her chess team and their families to a victorious scholastic year. The new formed team impressed the county and placed 1st in K-8 Regionals, 3rd Place in K-8 at States and 8th place in K-8 in Kentucky, the USCF Nationals Championship. Commissioner, Elizabeth Tejada
Better known amongst the many chess families in Miami Dade County as 'The Chess Lady.' Having taught Chess for 14 years, free to the students at Skyway Elementary, our Commissioner is not only the sole coordinator of the Title I Administration's popular chess programs, like the new Saturday Chess Academy. Where Students from Title I schools attend a weekly Saturday class at an approved Miami Dade County Public School location. There Title I students are taught by some of the leading Professional Chess Coaches available on the Chess Circuit today. She is certified by the USCF as a Tournament Director as well as a FIDE International organizer. Mrs. Tejada is such a driving force for Chess in South Florida, she most recently was recognized for the several changes and policies implemented in her Title I chess program and was the recipient of the 2014 UT Dallas Chess Educator of the Year Award.
